Leola Horton is the oldest of three children born to the late Henry and Leola Charleston. She is proud of her home roots in the “sweet” rural town of Clewiston, Florida and a product of the Hendry County School District. After graduation, she attended Bethune Cookman College where the motto is “Enter to Learn and Depart to Serve.” She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology.
She acknowledges the significance of being a lifelong learner and believes that learning is not only confined to school and textbooks, but includes learning from people as well as learning from positive and negative experiences. She continued her studies at Grand Canyon University receiving a Masters in Educational Administration.
Leola currently works for Palm Beach County School District. Leola is an active member of Lake Worth Church of God. She is a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.
